Chapter 5

The door opened slowly creaked inward. I shrunk back as far as I both wanted to be seen and not be seen. I wanted comfort but I didn't want anybody to know that I couldn't hold my feelings. I sniffed once and that was enough. He came inside the room. It was my appointed trainer. He came just close enough so he could see me. I tried not to let on but he knew. Cause he inched just a bit closer and kneeled.

"I know", He said "the first time is the hardest." He outstretched a hand which I refused. He brought it back and waited. I finally realized it was my turn to speak.

"I want out I can't do this again." I replied. My voice was distorted being the first time I spoke since then it almost surprised me.

"We all do the first time but I can't grant that. You know, I couldn't do it the first time. I was there I had the knife over the body but something stopped me. It was like an invisible cable holding me back my muscles where even tensed and pushing down but it just got suspended there in the air it couldn't fall. I then asked the question that made me fail. I asked why they left. I don't know why he was supposed to die and I still don't know you went there to finish my business what I should have finished a long time ago. I just couldn't go back." For the first time, since I met him, he pulled off his hood. His brunet hair glowed in the moonlight. "You have done me a favour and for that I'm grateful." He extended his hand for the second time and this time I accepted it. He smiled when I gripped his hand tightly back and he lifted me up to my feet. I fell forward and hugged him.

"So it gets easier." I replied.

"Yes." He confirmed in a soft voice. "The only reason you there alone this time was because I couldn't bring myself to come with you. We usually work in pairs. So don't worry about it too much." I finally let go. "Well than I'll need to know your name."

"I'm Azriel."

"That's Hebrew and means 'god is my aid right'."

"And so he has. I just came too check up on you do you think you will be all right."

"Ya, I'll be fine it will just take a while for me to get a hold of myself."

"Talm if you don't mind can I have your knife."

"Sure" I gave it over and he drew it and examined the crimson stain on it for a second then sheaved it.
