Chapter 1 :The Question
"From this day forward you are infused with the powers of a Paladin.May your ways walk through light, may you open the doors to peace and forgiveness and may you lead others into it. For you are now a servant of the light and a enemy of the darkness. Seek the ones who want to unite with light and offer your soul and mind".
I still remember how that day went. After I was appointed as a Paladin by the Prime Minister of Cronus, by Sodar and by all the loyal fellows in my legion, I never felt better since then. But lately there is not much to do.
Being a level 15 Paladin was a hard job ever since I got the level 15 diploma. I have no tasks right now so I'm in for a week of relaxation.
I was just lying there on one of my favorite rocks around Cronus. Gazing upon the crimson skies seemed like gazing upon peace .The silence was not unbearable though it did seem like it was the "quite before the storm".
I was beginning to get lost into my thoughts, thinking of moral realizations, nobility, my Paladin commitment and other simple stuff around here.
Out of nowhere a Cronus guard came rushing and yelling all the way:
'Six.....Six....I've got an urgent message for you. ' The tone in his voice was quite amusing, he had a dark squeal like voice.
The amusement was being amplified by the way he looked when he ran in his plate-brown armor. He approached me gently and this time using a soft voice.
'Six, I received a letter from your friend Demox in Elven City. He seems to be in trouble with some creatures he couldn't identify. He calls them "The Eye".'
'I understand, I'm packing my things and I'll head there as soon as possible.'
I didn't even say goodbye or thanks, I just ran as fast as can feet could bare. I needed to go to the Eudemon Stable Warehouse, I was planning to take my Pixies Selene and Dreane with me in Elven City. Maybe I could have a chance in training them there a little bit more.
The long and rocky like road 'till Cronus was getting longer and longer by the minute. Shadows dancing on the ground made me forget that I was running, but still my body could feel the pain of intense physical effort.
Leaves fallen on the ground like a carpet seemed to be reflecting my mood:torn, rusted and stepped on.
When I finally reached the Cronus Warehouse, the Warehouse keeper I knew was gone. Instead there was a tall, beautiful dark woman, with grey eyes, blue hair, and a body to die for. I stopped for a few seconds to drool and only after a few minutes I talked:
'Good day! I'm Six and I'm here for Pixies Selene and Dreane, here are the documents.'
I've handed over the documents that proved that I'm the owner of those eudemons, but still she looked at me funny 'The documents seem ok, now what's the password?'
'What password?'I asked with a face that showed nothing else except total confusion.
'Sir, don't waste my time, no password no eudemons, now go away!'
I didn't know what to do. To jump and beat her, to steal the eudemons? Should I say a fake password? What in the world was just happening! I was frozen like a candle in Icyland. It was way too strange. First the 400 year old warehouse keeper suddenly changed after 200 years. Then eudemons need a password to be taken out, even if I have the owner documents. Then it came to me. I think I know what happened...
