Chapter 9:The Guard In The Red Armor

As I approached a few heads turned, there was 7 people there one of them was lady seraphyne who was explaining something, there was 3 normal guards one man in armor who was twice the size of a normal guard, a shorter one and another female guard in green armor. Seraphyne said:

- why are you late?

- It took a while to get my weapon.

She looked oddly at the armor and spear and then she was surprised as if remembering something.

- Well these are the new recruits. I was in middle of explaining the importance of timing.

I was embarrassed and a few of the guards chuckled.

- Now that we're all here we can introduce our self's.

The three normal guards' names were Bill, Samuel and John. The woman in the green armor was Jocelyne and the tall guard was Sydney. Then the shorter Guard pointed out how he was not old enough to be a guard and he was only a squire. His name was Martin.

After the brief introduction Lady Seraphyne explained how we need to be in top shape. This is not so much of a problem for our group because they all look like they have mountains of muscle under they're armor.

- For today we will be training on the  dummies. Also... Salzamar come with me we need to talk.

Confused I followed her to the castle-side. She looked more serious than ever and even slightly scary.

- That armor, where did you get it?

- It was the armor given to me why?

- The guard with the red armor is a popular legend, about a man of evil, the man who supposably manipulated the previous king into warring the elves, and he was in the front lines. Your father... the leader of our city, was the one who put a sword into the red Guard . He was a high ranking deputy and seeing this armor makes the legend actually real. See the mending job done on the heart?

-Yes...

- Your father inflicted that on this very suit of armor, they say it was entirely black but was tainted red wit the blood of elves, giving it an evil aura... And your spear belonged to the red guard to. Be careful that's all I'm saying.
