[EO]Broadcast Wars: Dumb In Hypocrisy

Sometimes I wonder if anyone has really stopped to carefully read the broadcast wars that so many players so often engage in. "'Player X' is a random n00b! [Place Obscenity]!", "'Player Y' SUCKS! (S)He borrows pets!" (Of course, if these were completely true to the broadcast wars, the comments would be much more colorful). Does anyone else see the hypocrisy? I would hope so.

Every in-game feud is caused by one event: death. This could mean the player's death, a friend's death, or even the death of a boss. And since the only reliable thing to attack is potency, there's a lot of trash talking to try and entice a lower-potency enemy to come to try and kill you.

That isn't my issue. My issue is what people say. Even though this is just a game and insults should mean nothing if not... well, let's face it, insults over an online game should really mean nothing.

But it's hard to not take these comments as malicious and dead serious. The rate at which these slanders occur (quite often) and the language used in them (which is very vulgar) points to that.

Think of is this way: ever had to deal with the bully who, when you insult him, cries back to his mommy? Yeah. They're all over Eudemons Online as well.

Whether it's randoming away "too quickly" (which, by the way, there is no such thing since it IS the easiest way to survive...), using family potency or borrowing pets and gear, it's important to remember that almost ALL of us use these.

Is it hypocritical to use these arguments when you (you know who you are) do it yourself?

Do I need to give you that answer?

Does any of this matter?

Probably not, but it's still fun to point out how dumb we can be.
